Battlefield 2042: All About Open
Beta
Soldiers, to arms! It’s time to
finally try out the new Battlefield 2042, at least the open beta of the game
which is available in early access starting today (6). And so you don’t arrive unprepared
for the battlefield.
After the game was pushed back to
November, Oskar Gabebrielson, general manager of DICE, and Florian Le Bihan,
lead game designer, presented the new features that will already be available
for this beta version.
Specialized in war
Here, we will be in the role of
Specialists, which are equivalent to the game’s classes. Four of them will be
available for this version, where each one has its own characteristics and a
specialty that defines its playing style. Despite having a locked primary
specialty, you are free to choose your weapons, grenade and secondary item for
your soldier to create your preferred loadout.
Among those available for the
beta are Webster Mackay, of the assault class, whose specialty is the hook
(which allows him to scale buildings, for example); Maria Falck, support, with
the specialty of the S21 Syrette pistol (which fires healing at a distance);
Pyotr “Boris” Guskovsky, engineer who controls the SG-36 Sentry System (a
high-caliber automatic weapon that operates and fires on its own); and Wikus
“Casper” Van Daele, a recon with the OV-P Recon Drone as a specialty (nothing
better than knowing the location of your opponents).
The Battlefield 2042
On PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X /
S and PC the game supports up to 128 simultaneous players, who will be able to
experience the next generation of the game. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One 64
versions. The game mode will be Conquest, where two teams fight for space on
the map – which will be Orbital, located in Kourou, French Guiana.
There are times in this mode
where the map allows multiple players to meet, so chaos takes over. When you
have a little more peace, you will be able to have a more paced combat, with
more tactics and precision to take a flag. The map still has a few clusters, a
series of special concentrated locations where objectives can be taken, whether
it’s a village, an oil rig or a stadium. There are also sectors, where players
change how they can control these groupings as long as they meet all
requirements.

‘Battlefield 2042’ Open Beta is Available
Starting today, EA Play
subscribers and Battlefield™ 2042 holders from Electronic Arts and DICE can now
get in on the action with the game’s Open Beta* – now available for Xbox One,
Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation® 4, PlayStation®5 and PC.
The Open Beta will also be
available to everyone from October 8th to 9th.
In Battlefield 2042 Open Beta,
players and females can experience the franchise’s iconic Conquest Mode
experience in All-Out Warfare on the Orbital map, as seen in the game’s
advertisement trailer. Gamers on PC and next-gen consoles can experience epic
new 128-player battles (64-player on Xbox One and PlayStation 4) via the full-scale
Conquest game mode, in a fight for control of key goal points within the
Orbital map.
Open Beta allows fans to take the
place of one of four unique experts, each with their own distinct styles,
specialties and characteristics. Participants can try out Russian engineer
Boris, who has an SG-36 in his arsenal; the South African specialist in
camouflage and ranged attacks known as Casper; the skilled German doctor Falck,
specialized in Support; and the Canadian nomad Mackay, owner of a grappling
hook gun.
The Battlefield 2042 Orbital map
is set in Kourou, French Guiana – where players and female players will race
against time as they battle at the site of an impending rocket launch. The
Orbital map features individual sectors, including the Assembly Building,
Launch Pad and Transport Platform connecting the two.
Those who purchase the
Battlefield 2042 Standard Edition for PlayStation®5 Xbox Series X|S will have
the Dual Version, which will give access to the game on previous generation
hardware for the respective platform. All progress made on previous generation
hardware will be transferred when players and players update their hardware.

Battlefield 2042: DICE Reveals
Gameplay on PS4 and Xbox One
Battlefield producer DICE gave us
a first glimpse of the long-awaited Battlefield 2042 on next-gen consoles.
Through Twitter, Battlefield’s official account has posted an image that shows
what the game will be like on Xbox’s next-generation system. Check below:
Your first look at #Battlefield 2042 running on the original Xbox One
Look forward to seeing more from your favorite creators posting their PC Capture in 8 hours 👀 pic.twitter.com/seOJN7Z6KJ— Battlefield (@Battlefield) October 5, 2021
The fact that DICE shares images
of the game with the latest versions of Battlefield 2042 with the community is
a very positive aspect on the part of the developer, as players had a
particularly troubled year, still recovering from the release of Cyberpunk 2077
, both on PS4 and Xbox One – which has left gamers somewhat skeptical of the
(generally) next-gen versions of the games.
If playing Battlefield 2042 on
Xbox One or PS4 is part of your plan, EA has announced that the “dual
entitlement” will only apply to next-gen versions. This means that if you
only have a PS4 or Xbox One, you will need to purchase the PS5 or Xbox Series
X|S version of the game so that you can enjoy the Battlefield 2042 update
system.
