Chopra announce the birth of their first baby
Actress Priyanka Chopra
and her husband, musician Nick Jonas, arrive at the premiere of “Isn’t It
Romantic” on February 11, 2019, in Los Angeles. The couple announced on
Friday, January 21, 2022, that she had a baby via surrogacy on January 15.

Singer Nick Jonas, 29,
and actress Priyanka Chopra, 39, took to social media on Friday (21) to
announce the birth of the couple’s first child. The statement surprised fans.
In the publication, the
artists made the announcement of the arrival of the baby and asked the fans and
the press to respect their privacy. In addition, they said that they chose to
use a surrogate, a practice legalized in the United States.
“We are delighted to
confirm that we are celebrating the arrival of a baby through surrogacy. We
respectfully ask for our privacy at a special time when we are focusing on our
family. Thank you,” the statement reads.
In recent months, the press
reported that the couple would be in crisis and in the process of separating.
However, in November and December, they appeared together in a few photos and
warded off divorce rumors.

With the news, the couple
received congratulations from friends and family, as Nick’s brother Joe Jonas
dropped heart-shaped emojis on Priyanka and Nick’s post. Lara Dutta wrote:
“Congratulations.” Their fans were also thrilled to hear the news,
which appeared in the comments section and some of them said, “Oh my God,
I can’t express how happy I am for you guys, and I can’t wait to see the baby
grow up.”

In an interview with
Vanity Fair, Priyanka talked about starting a family with Nick, saying, “They
are a huge part of our desire for the future. By God’s grace, when this
happens, it will.” In 2019, Priyanka told Vogue India, “Having a baby
is on my to-do list. For me, home is where I feel happy, as long as I have the
people I love around me.”
In an interview
with Nick said having children is something they hope will happen, “We
definitely want kids, and when the time comes, it will.” As Priyanka told
PEOPLE in June 2018: “I definitely want to have kids. That, it’s going to
happen in the next 10 years. Well I hope before that. I’m very fond of children
and I want to be able to do that.”
